5 Golden Things...

5 Golden Things...

There is no shortage of glimmer and glitz this time of year, that's why we love this gold top from Bailey 44. It's perfect for the holidays but also transcends season and the time of day. Pair it with unexpected colors like army green or khaki or go classic with winter white.
Don't be afraid to pile on the sparkle: we are obsessed with these arm warmers (yes, you read that correctly...arm warmers)...they're trendy and cute and make a great gift too at $38!
OPI's "Golden Eye" polish and Bobbie Brown's sparkle shadow compliment each other nicely to give you a cohesive look.
Keep your earrings simple and let your other accessories do the talking!

One jacket - two events

One Jacket - Two Ways

With so many events coming up in the next few weeks, we like to get a little
mileage out of our clothes.
We've taken this sparkly jacket from Miss Me and created two completely different looks from it.  One for Thanksgiving and one for your reunion (or any event you have coming up).
For Thanksgiving we paired the jacket with a pair of oh-so-comfy Jag pull-on jeans...they're higher rise to eliminate the dreaded muffin top and the no button, no zipper, faux pocket design keeps everything smooth under longer tops.  Keep your accessories sophisticated with a neutral scarf and rose gold earrings. Add a little seasonal color with this red bag from Linea Pelle.

For your reunion: step it up a little with black velvet pants from Big Star.  Since the jacket is an accessory in itself keep earrings, bracelet, and clutch in the same color family as your pants. One jacket - two events

Dress To Impress

Its the most wonderful time of year...again.
The next two months will be packed with parties and events and with that comes the age old question, "What do I wear?"
We say make a statement in this "Princess" Coat from Tracy Reese.   It can be worn as outerwear or as part of your outfit.  Underneath, go bold again, with with a silk pattern tank and harem-esque  black pants (both by Tracy Reese).  Keep your accessories simple: gold hoops and a black flower clutch.

What would you wear to an outdoor party...tonight?!

What to Wear to an Outdoor Party...tonight?!?

This is by far the hardest part of the year to dress.  Rain this morning, sunny and warm this afternoon, and falling temps tonight! What's a gal to wear?!?
Our advice: layering.  We are ab-so-lute-ly in love with this sweater from 360, it's perfect for this time of year with skinny jeans and a matching scarf.  Keep your look sophisticated with neutral shades. And since we know you packed away those flip flops (you did, right?) try out this seasons hottest trend: the bootie (our pick is this one from Klub Nico | $208). Pop your outfit with crimson clutch from Linea Pelle, a statement belt from Forest & Culver, and some simple earrings from Sheila Fajl and you'll be ready to go!

Trendspotting

 IT’S A MASH-UP

Color- and pattern-blocking, executed within an outfit or even in a single piece, is everywhere. Kaitlyn Litchfield, a buyer at Ports & Company in Cohasset, notes that while “color-blocking has been around forever--think back to the mod ’60s--the mash-up is the invention of current-day designers adding their own twist.”

 OLD-WORLD BAROQUE

The dramatic swirls of baroque-patterned fabrics harken back to 17th-century Rome, but Amy Finegold, owner of Dresscode in Andover, notes that today’s incarnations are steeped in technology. “We’ve seen so many prints--florals, leopard, etc.--but these digitally produced patterns are quite novel.”

Accessorize, Darling!

We're always being asked, "What should I wear with this?"
Whether its a cocktail dress or jeans and a t-shirt it's important to polish
your look with the right accoutrements!
The first rule is to pick one item and match your other accessorize to that.  For this set, we started with a wrap watch from Sara Designs NYC (side note: how fab is that?!?!) and went from there pairing it with a nickle leather clutch from Two Hippies, a studded leather belt from Forest & Culver, black ballet flats from Skemo, and a funky feather necklace from Nakamol.
Some may shy away from so many add-ons but since we matched all these from the same starting point they go together perfectly!
Accessorize, Darling!

Shopping, Dinner, Movie

Bring on the rain, we have the perfect outfit!
What to do on this rainy Saturday? And more importantly...what to wear? Today is one of the those "transition" days where you can easily pull off a long sleeve shirt and long pants. This Stargazer blouse from Johnny Was is the perfect top with white jeans for shopping then out to dinner and a movie! Accessorize lightly because the top is heavily embroidered; silver hoops, feather necklace, and a reversible Sondra Roberts bag. Don't be afraid to go outside the box with these animal print flats from Skemo. Matchy-matchy is a no-no! Shopping, Dinner, Movie

Summer to Fall in One Easy Dress!

Summer to Fall in one easy dress!
With so many trends to follow it's hard to keep track of what's in and what's out from season to season.  We love the idea of buying now, wearing now AND later! This dress from Before + Again is our pick for the perfect transitional piece.  Wear it now with flip flops or over a bathing suit and then again through early Fall.  With warm days and cool nights, throw on a jean jacket, scarf, and mid calf cowboy boots and voila...Summer to Fall in one easy dress! (Don't be afraid of accessories either...this bracelet from Nakamol and Vanessa Mooney Earrings are in the same color family so you're not matchy-matchy.)Summer to Fall in One Easy Dress!
